The government is proposing to charge volunteers for a new type of criminal record check in England and Wales.
The new ‘portable check’ will enable people to volunteer for more than one organisation at a time without having to undergo multiple checks. The portable checks sound like a great idea that could reduce time and barriers to get involved but we want to know if you think it’s right that volunteers should have to pay for them?
