Congratulations to both of our runners!

Bright and early on Sunday morning our two runners, Daniel Nikel and Julian Purser, took to the streets of London in the sweltering heat to run 26.2 miles on behalf of Training For Life. Their courageous efforts were purely to raise funds for our work and every penny they raise will go towards creating a new apprenticeship for someone who is currently unemployed.

Our runners have done the hard work of running and now we need your help to get them to their fundraising goal of £20,000. The total stands at £3,500 currently, so we have a long way to go but you can help by going to www.justgiving.com/daniel-nikel; or www.justgiving.com/julian-purser and donating to reward their efforts. Thank you to those of you who have already generously supported our runners!

Let’s meet our runners… Our first runner is Julian Purser: “I work for Premier IT, a company that has been working with Training For Life for a number of years, thus I am aware firsthand of the difference the charity makes to people’s lives. They do a great job at giving people a chance in life and I wanted to be a part of that in some small way. My goal was raise £5,000 for sponsorship but I have not managed to come close to this amount”.

Our second runner is Daniel Nikel, from Barclaycard. “I heard all about TFL internally through the work my colleagues at various levels within Barclaycard as they have been involved with the charity for five years. The work of TFL fits well with my beliefs about giving back to the community and supporting others to succeed. I am proud to be able to help out in this way!” I am still a long ways off from my fundraising pledge of £5,000.

How can you help…? Every penny our runners raise will go towards creating a new apprenticeship for someone who is currently unemployed. This year we want to match their efforts, pound for pound.
